Creative Inservices Staff

President -  Amy Olson

Amy Olson is a WNY native and received her B.S. degree in Physical Education K-12  from Canisius College and a M.S. degree in Adult Education with a concentration in Health Education from Buffalo State College.  She has been a certified American Heart Association CPR Instructor since 2005 and has also taught a variety of courses, including Lifeguard Training for the American Red Cross since 2000.  Amy has previously taught Physical Education and Health at various local private and public schools, as well as had been an Adjunct Instructor at NCCC from 2005-2012.  She has also coached a variety of sports at different levels and has previously taught American Sign Language at both Empire State College and the Maryvale Community Education Center.

In July of 2012 she took over ownership of Creative Inservices and has been working hard with her wonderful staff to continue to provide quality CPR training for those who need or want it.  Amy has expanded the business to include Safe Sitter babysitter training, a variety of Health and Physical Education Inservices, and she is looking to start sign language classes in the near future. Her dedication to helping the community to be safer and healthier has been her goal since she was a teenager. 

In her spare time she is a volunteer firefighter and has been since 1996.  She received Firefighter of the Year in 2005.  She is an alumni of the Canisius College (WBC) Women's Business Center. In July of 2014 Creative Inservices was chosen to receive $5,000 after winning a "Shark Tank" competition through the Canisius College Women's Business Center's Success Stimulus competition.  Amy was also named WBC Member of the Month in June of 2015!  She is also very involved with her church and singing in the choir.  She also has 3 young children.

Meet Our Instructors

Don. A. recently joined Creative Inservices in 2016. Former Volunteer Firefighter in the Town of Tonawanda for 10 years. Community activist for many years. Member of local little league football organization for 12+ years. Volunteer's for many other organizations to help better the community.

Ken B. II recently joined the staff of Creative Inservices. He has been employed at various public safety agencies in the Western New York area for the past 28 years. Currently, he is a New York State certified EMT and is employed as a career firefighter and a part-time public safety dispatcher. He has a passion for baseball, community service, and patriotic endeavors.

Nancy D. recently joined our team at Creative Inservices, she has over thirty years in the health field.  An instructor since 2000, she enjoys interacting with students and loves to teach!

Mary K. has been teaching Heartsaver and BLS classes as certified American Heart Association instructors for 10 years. She enjoys the interaction with the students during the classes and getting them to work as a team. Mary has a B.A in Psychology from Edinboro University and an M.Ed in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. 

Jane M. has a career of quality health care.  It includes completion of RN, BSN and AHA BLS Instructor Certification.  Her work experiences have included various health care settings.  Jane began working at Creative Inservices in 1993.  When not working, Jane likes to spend time with family and enjoys music and weeding.

Colette R. is a Registered Nurse at Sheridan Pediatrics who has taught CPR at Creative Inservices since 2000. She is married, has two children and two dogs.  She enjoys helping others.

Dave S. has been with Creative Inservices since 2007.  He is currently an EMT and EMS Captain with the Getzville Fire Company.  Dave have been in EMS training since 2001.

Bill S. joined Creative Inservices in 2014. He has a passion for golf, fishing and hunting. He came to us with many years of experience. He was a National Sales Trainer for Smith Nephew; Vice President of Stewart Medical for 15 years and Vice President of Buffalo Hospital for 15 years.  He enjoys keeping busy during his retirement and has joined Creative Inservices to keep himself actively involved in the community.
